Tulip Festival Kashmir 2025

 

The Tulip Festival 2025 is an annual festival held in the month of March. The Tulip Garden will be open for public from 19th March 2025. The government of Jammu & Kashmir organizes this festival and this festival is famous as Tulip Festival. The Tulip Festival means the beginning of the tourist season in the Valley. In India, summer begins in the lowlands and as the summer heats up, tourists move to the hilly areas. Due to this, Srinagar and surrounding areas become the main choice of tourists. The Tulip Festival is celebrated with great joy and gaiety, the festival includes several concerts, cultural events, conferences, and food festivals. The mix of colours of different types of tulips blooming in the garden attracts thousands of tourists from different parts of India to visit Kashmir.

 

Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1 – 17th March , 2025: Arrival at Srinagar (D)

 

After arrival at Srinagar airport our representative will pick you up and transfer to hotel to check in.

Have the dinner & overnight at Hotel in Kashmir.

 

Day 2 – 18th March , 2025: Trf to Pahalgam, Gulmarg Sightseeing (B/D)

 

After Breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for Gulmarg, called “Meadow of Flowers” is a famous Ski Resort & the world’s highest 18-hole Golf Course. The place was prominent during the British time.

Enroute visit Drung Waterfall and Strawberry Valley.

 

Drung Waterfall

 

The Drung Waterfall is an extremely popular tourist attraction located in the Tangmarg tehsil of Gulmarg, Baramulla. A cascading waterfall set amidst majestic mountains, located approximately 14 km from Gulmarg, it freezes completely during winter due to the extremely low temperature. This frozen waterfall is a must-visit in the area.The waterfall plunges from a height of about 30 meters, creating a refreshing mist that enhances the natural charm of the area. The cascading waterfall mixes with the water that originates from the magnificent glaciers and makes for an unforgettable sight. During the summers, one can spend some quiet time here while enjoying views of the waterfall, lakes, streams, surrounding greenery as well as explore the caves. The area is even more breath-taking during the wintertime when everything is frozen; the waterfall freezes as it comes down, forming icicles. The surrounding landscape is ideal for picnicking and light trekking, offering panoramic views of the verdant hills and snow-capped peaks in the distance. There are stalls around , that serves tea and snacks for people to have while they take in the magnificent scenes. There is also a small temple in the vicinity.

 

Strawberry Valley

 

Strawberry Valley in Gulmarg is a stunning valley in the Jammu and Kashmir state of India, celebrated for its exquisite scenery and sweeping vistas of the strawberry fields. It is one of the most celebrated valleys in Kashmir renowned for its natural splendour and attracts nature lovers, hikers, and adventure enthusiasts alike. Bota Pathri (Subject to grant of Permission by Police Authorities)

 

Bota Pathri is an offbeat location hidden in the beautiful scenery of Gulmarg, India. Rocks festooning its cliffs make it every adventure enthusiast’s little piece of heaven. The trip takes you through green pockets, serpentine paths, and the hopes of meeting that uncertain beauty, in the majestic Himalayan peaks. Bota Pathri Gulmarg is situated in the Gulmarg area of Kashmir. Around 10km from the main Gulmarg market, this valley offers a quaint escape into nature. The valley is full of forest, river streams, and the local shepherd settlement. Gulmarg looks more beautiful in the winter season. The valley falls towards the border side and Pakistan is just a few kilometers away.

“Agar firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, Hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast”, as the renowned Farsi poet , Amir Khusrau said which translates to “if there is heaven on earth it is here it is here”, Kashmir is indeed a ‘Paradise on Earth’ and tourists visiting this region of India on a Kashmir trip, often second this statement when they witness the beauty of Gulmarg. Gulmarg literally means “Meadow of flowers”. Gulmarg is located 60 KMs away from Srinagar which is an hour and half journey by car. Gulmarg has attracted millions of tourists throughout its existence with the scenic beauty of the Himalayan Mountains in the back drop. One of the main attractions in Gulmarg is the Gulmarg Gondola, the Highest Cable Car in the world. The 1st phase of the Gondola takes tourists to the height of 8530 ft to Kongdori Station and the second stage of the Gondola goes up to the height of 12293 ft. Gulmarg in winter is a magnificent experience, fully covered in a white blanket of Snow which turns it into a skiers paradise. The natural slopes here are untouched and prove to be a challenge to ace skiers.

Day 3 – 19th March , 2025: Trf to Pahalgam, ABC Tour

 

After Breakfast proceed for Pahalgam, also called as “Valley of Shepherds”. Enroute visit Avantipura Ruins. The town of Awantipora or Avantipura is located on the banks of River Jehlum in Pulwama district of J&K. It is on Jammu and Kashmir National highway, and is around 57 km from Pahalgam. The temple was built by King Awantivarman in the year 853-855 CE. Previously known as Viswasara, the ancient town which was then a capital as well, was founded by King Avantivarman. He built many Hindu temples in this region, only some of which exist today due to vandalism by Islamic invaders. The temples of Kashmir do look very different from many ancient temples in Kashmir and elsewhere in India. The temples have groups of ϐigures of both sexes engaged in drinking and many other activities. The sculptures can be seen on the front wall of the entrance and the walls of stairs. Half a mile up is temple dedicated to Shiva. We will visit Saffron Field at Pampore. Pampore has been attracting travellers from across the globe because of its saffron fields and pretty landscape. The famous Kashmiri Saffron are always in demand and are super expensive. You know you have entered Pampore when an exquisite aroma and a distinct flavour
engulfs your surroundings. In a burst of vibrant hues, Pampore’s saffron fields have turned into a mesmerizing attraction, evolving into a tourist haven that promises a captivating experience for anyone who ventures to Kashmir. The golden blooms have transformed the landscape into a mesmerizing kaleidoscope, offering a visual feast that is drawing visitors from far and wide. As the saffron flowers blanket the fields with their rich, golden glow, Pampore emerges as a sought-after spot for nature enthusiasts and those in search of a distinctive cultural immersion. The air is infused with the sweet aroma of saffron, creating an immersive experience that lingers in one’s senses. 

 

Apple Valley

 

Explore the enthralling charm of Apple Valley in Pahalgam, a picturesque getaway tucked away in the Kashmir Valley. Betaab Valley

Chandanwari

Day 4 – 20th March , 2025: At Pahalgam – Day at Leisure

 

Have a delicious breakfast at the hotel.

The day is at leisure. You can stroll around picturesque town or go for shopping.

Day 5 – 21st March , 2025 : Pahalgam – Doodhpathri – Srinagar

 

After Breakfast, Check Out from hotel and proceed for Doodhpathri. The name “Doodhpathri” means “Valley of Milk.” It is said that the famous poet and saint of Kashmir, “Sheikh-Ul-AalamSheikh- Noor-Ud-Din Noorani, has prayed here, and once, when he was in search of water in the meadows to offer prayers, he pricked the ground with his stick to search for water, and milk came out. Located at an altitude of 2,730 m, Doodhpathri lies on the banks of the Shaliganga river in Khansahib tehsil of district Budgam Jammu & Kashmir.

It is a beautiful offbeat tourist attraction visited by hundreds of tourists every year. The meadow is adorned with variety of colourful flowers such as daisies and buttercups. The valley is bowl-shaped with pristine untouched beauty attracting tourists to spend their time in peace and seclusion. Doodhpathri was given the name Valley of Milk as the water that flows through this meadow has a milky appearance from a distance. It is said that the famous saint of Kashmir Sheikh-ulAlam prayed here and miraculously found milk when searching for water in the meadows of Doodhpathri. He asked the milk that it can only be used for drinking and not for ablution. So, upon his instructions, the milk changed its form to water, and this way the valley came to be known as Doodhpathri.

Tourists can witness lush meadows, snow-covered peaks, colourful flowers, and sparkling streams during their visit to this destination making it one of the most popular and breath-taking tourist destinations.

Day 6 – 22nd March , 2025 : Day excursion to Yousmarg , Shikara Ride and Night stay at Houseboat

 

After breakfast, proceed for day excursion to Yusmarg, located in Bagdam district. Yusmarg also called Meadows of Jesus is known for its long stretches of green pastures. An ideal tourist attraction that in its humblest of ways teaches to revere nature, Yusmarg is a proud part of the Valley of Kashmir. Embark on trails that lead to exotic places like Sang-e-Safed Valley and Nilnag. Away from the confines of the mundane, Yusmarg is a little paradise in its own right. The jewel of Bagdam district, Yusmarg shelters many picture perfect locales. It mesmerizes tourists with its natural beauty through destinations like Sang-e-Safed valley; Yusmarg is also famed for having some exceptional springs of flowers. Later, transfer to Srinagar and check into much famed House Boats. Better known as the floating houses, houseboats in Kashmir provide a unique staying option. After Breakfast board the vehicle for full Day excursion of Sonmarg.

Situated at an altitude of 9000 Ft. Sonmarg is also called as “The meadow of gold” at its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer. Ponies can be hired (Optional At your own cost) for the trip up to Thajiwas Glacier, which is a major local attraction during the summer. By evening we will return to Srinagar.

Day 8- 24th March , 2025: Check-out from Hotel, Tulip Garden, Other local sightseeing, drop at Airport(B/D)

 

After Breakfast, proceed for Srinagar local sightseeing which includes Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, Shankaracharya Temple, Pari Mahal. You will also be visiting Tulip Garden. Earlier known as Siraj Bagh or Model Floriculture Centre , the Tulip Garden In Srinagar is named after former prime minister of India Indira Gandhi (Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden).

Overlooking the world famous Dal Lake in the foot hills of Zabarwan mountains, Srinagar tulip garden is a must for all visitors especially during Tulip Festival which takes place between March and April each year.

Spread across about 30 hectares the garden is the largest Tulip Garden in Asia. Blooming with more than 1.5 million tulips of about 48 varieties. The Tulip Garden in Srinagar also hosts many other species of flowers like ranunculus, hyacinths and daffodils and a very rare tree called Tulip Tree which also blooms at the same time.

Tulips are considered most delicate and sensitive flowers and can grow in a particular climatic condition. The climate of Kashmir valley in the end of March is perfect for these flowers to bloom and they are among the first blooming flowers in the Valley.

This seven terraced garden has many sections and each section is designed by gardeners to make it unique. Every section hosts different varieties of Tulips like strong gold, margaritas, candela, kung fu, early harvest, ile de France etc.

Asia’s largest tulip garden has been equipped with many other modern-day facilities like Free Wi-Fi, Fountains, Washrooms, Open-air Cafeteria, Decorated stalls and kiosks.
